ODS (OpenDocument Spreadsheet) is the spreadsheet format used by LibreOffice, OpenOffice and other free office suites. Anyone wishing to import tabular data from an ODS file into other systems, such as databases, a CRM or analysis tools, will often find that CSV is the most common input format. This is because programming with CSV files is extremely simple, as they consist solely of plain text.

With File-Converter-Online.com, ODS files can be converted directly to CSV. As a rule, other programmes expect a comma as the delimiter and text in the UTF-8 character set. A different delimiter (for example, a tab for TSV or a semicolon, particularly in German-speaking regions) can be selected via the dropdown menu. UTF-8 is now the standard character set, but can be changed to ISO-8859-1 (Latin-1) if problems arise with umlauts or accents.

Note:
As CSV files can only contain a single worksheet, only the first sheet of the ODS file is ever output as a CSV file.
